For the past six years, I have been serving animals and their people with shamanic healing, which addresses the spiritual aspects of healing both in-person and remotely. I am now working full time as a shamanic practitioner and developing a complete program of services, from individual healing to community ceremony to teaching shamanic practice, incorporating all of my life experience as a counselor, therapist, and educator.
From a shamanic point of view, there are three causes of illness: loss of power, loss of soul essence, or intrusions of energy that are not to the highest good of the person or animal. For more information, see the article SHAMANIC HEALING: https://judyramsey.net/shamanichealing.
Originally, I learned shamanic healing as a distance modality for my animal communication practice, because so many rescue animals have PTSD and behavioral issues due to that condition. Having addressed PTSD and abuse recovery both as a social work counselor and craniosacral therapist, and havng been through it myself, I have a uniquely informed perspective of PTSD caused by abuse, trauma, chronic health issues, and chaotic environments. My shamanic practice supports both people and animals in need of power and soul restoration from trauma and abuse.
I am offering shamanic counseling and life coaching, which uses journeying and ceremony to help guide one’s path to connect closely with nature and one’s own guides. Through shamanic journeying, I can also support hospice services with paliative care, ceremony, and psychopomp, assisting the spirit in its journey to the other side.
Last year, I graduated from Sandra Ingerman’s two-year shamanic teacher training and became one of her instructors. I am teaching a year-long course in shamanic practice, as well as my own classes in Shamanic Healing for Animals, two levels so far. I’m also developing a Shamanic Animal Communication class. Many of these classes are taught on ZOOM for easy access.
The past year, while stressful because of the pandemic, has given me the opportunity to create a path to inspire others and to continue to provide service to those in need. If you think shamanic healing might be helpful for you or your animal friends, or you have questions about the services and classes, contact me at info@judyramsey.net.
